Gabrielle Merchant, Au.D., Ph.D.

I am a hearing scientist and audiologist with interdisciplinary training in audiology, engineering, psychoacoustics, biology, and auditory neuroscience. My translational research focuses on auditory mechanics, auditory perception, and advancing evidence-based practice through improved clinical diagnostic tools. I have a particular interest and emphasis on pediatrics and conductive hearing loss.

Eric Hulse, Au.D.

Dr. Eric Hulse is a clinical Audiologist that has been with Aurora Health Care since 2018. He completed his AuD at Rush University Medical Center. He splits his time completing vestibular and hearing assessments with subsequent aural rehabilitation for patients with hearing loss and tinnitus. He is a current member of the American Board of Audiology.

Stephanie Czuhajewski, CAE, MPH

Stephanie founded Agentis Management, Inc., in January 2011 to help associations accomplish their missions. She oversees business operations for Agentis, and is responsible for service delivery and customer satisfaction. She carries 20 years of management experience in both the public and private sector, with an emphasis in non-profit marketing, fundraising and public relations.

Stephanie earned the Certified Association Executive credential in 2010 — the CAE is the highest professional credential that one can attain in the association management profession. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Sullivan University and a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of New England.

Meredy Hase, Au.D.

Dr. Hase celebrates 50 years an audiologist this year. She retired from a successful private practice in 2015, having built it from a start-up business to six offices in four counties with five audiologists. She remains a lifelong advocate for audiologists and their patients by serving on the boards of directors of Hear Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Academy of Audiology plus the DHS cCMV WiSPER Task Force.

Gary Goyke

Gary Goyke was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from Saint Mary's University. Goyke worked as a staff member for U.S. Senator and Vice President Hubert Humphrey.

Goyke was a member of the Wisconsin Senate until 1983. During his time in office, Goyke served as the chair of several committees and subcommittees, including Education and State Institutions and Banking and Insurance.

Gary Goyke and Associates offers public affairs, grassroots advocacy, association management, special events, referendum coordination, local and state lobbying. He has served as the lobbyist for the Wisconsin Academy of Audiology since its inception in November 2023.

Sara Neuman, Au.D.

Sara Neumann, Au.D., is a clinical & research audiologist, Division Director of the Pediatric Hearing Implant Program at Hearts for Hearing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and adjunct professor at University of Oklahoma. She specializes in pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, hearing assistive technology, and evaluates clinically relevant outcomes with different hearing technologies. She was a Teacher of the Deaf (B.S. in Deaf Education from Northern Illinois University) before returning to school to obtain her Doctorate of Audiology from Illinois State University.  She has been an audiologist at Hearts for Hearing for over 13 years and Manager of Audiology Research from 2018-2025.

Christine Otte, Au.D.

Christine has been an educational audiologist with CESA 6 for 14+ years, currently serving 16 school districts in 5 counties. Prior to that she worked clinically in different settings, including an Eye and Ear Infirmary clinic/university hospital, a private practice audiology clinic, a non profit agency, and the VA medical system. She hales from Wisconsin, and graduated from Marquette University (B.S. degree) in 1990. She then earned her MS degree from Idaho State University in 1992, and her AuD from Salus University in 2010. She most enjoys helping her students to become young adults who are “the boss of their hearing loss”.

Beth Larimer, Au.D.

Beth is recently retired after 40 years of Audiology practice. Her first 20 years were in the clinical setting at Dean Clinic and the VA Hospital. The last 20 years she has been an Educational Audiologist with CESA2, as a rural itinerant provider covering as many as 24 school districts across 5 counties. She received her Masters Degree from UW Madison in 1986 and her AuD from University of Florida Gainesville in 2013. Her clinical interests lie in CAPD, Hearing Assistive Technology, and assuring access to all persons with hearing differences in public and private settings.

Elizabeth Kellom, MS

Elizabeth Kellom is a clinical genetic counselor and has worked at the Waisman Center for the past 9 years. She subspecializes in the genetics of disorders of hearing and vision. Her passion is in helping patients and their families find empowerment through genetic information so they can better understand their health and identity. 

Hunter Elms, MD

Hunter Elms grew up in Texas, but his passion for providing care to patients with hearing loss, skull base neoplasms, and chronic ear disease has drawn him increasingly far north through his career. After graduating from undergraduate and medical school at the University of Texas, he completed an otolaryngology residency at Duke University, followed by a fellowship in Neurotology at Indiana University. He is excited to join the Wisconsin hearing restoration community as a staff Neurotologist at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Marcia Dewey, Au.D.

Dr. Marcia Dewey is in her 28th year of providing audiological services with a clinical focus in tinnitus and sound sensitivity. She has been with the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network since 2007. She has been in a leadership role since 2013. Currently she is supervisor of audiology service for 5 sites across the Froedtert & ThedaCare south region. As a leader to 24 direct reports, she strives to help her fellow team members see their value and worth everyday through support, collaboration, and teamwork.

Amy Dankwardt, Au.D.

Dr. Amy Dankwardt has been an audiologist for 28 years and has spent most of her career at Aurora Healthcare. Starting in leadership in 2023, she is now the manager of audiology services for 10 sites in the Milwaukee area and liaison to the 18 other Aurora/Advocate audiology sites across Wisconsin and Illinois. She is dedicated to empowering her team members to appreciate their unique contributions and value each day by nurturing encouragement, partnership, and collective effort.

Veronica H. Heide, Au.D.

Veronica Heide has been in practice in the Madison area for over 25 years.  She has worked in clinics, hospitals, and industry, and founded her private practice, Audible Difference®, in 1991, and is currently a part of Midwest Audiology & Hearing Center. In addition to her clinical practice, she worked as a research audiologist for Nicolet Instrument Corporation with Project Phoenix, the world’s first commercially available digital hearing aid.

She has published technical articles on hearing evaluation and digital hearing aid research. She was an instructor for the Wisconsin Pediatric Hearing Instrument Fitting course and served as an adjunct professor at George S. Osborne School of Audiology in Pennsylvania. She served on the Board of Directors of the Audiology Foundation of America and on the Board of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. She served two terms on the Governor’s Council on Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. She currently serves as President of WAA.

Catherine Conely, Au.D.

Dr. Catherine Conely, has been working as an audiologist for nearly 30 years, with the majority of those being spent in Wisconsin. She enjoys all facets of the career, but gets the most enjoyment mentoring students, and working with WAA to promote the field of Audiology and moving towards modernization of the profession. She serves on the WAA Board and had chaired the WAA yEARly Huddle for the past two years.
